Fourth of July Festival In Downtown Brevard

Catch the Hometown Spirit !

Small towns are the perfect way to celebrate Independence Day!  Come join us in Downtown Brevard for our annual Fourth of July Celebration, taking place this year on Monday, July 4th.  The street festival starts early enough (9:00am) to avoid the hot sun and ends (5:00pm) before the summer storms pass through.  At 9:30pm you can enjoy the Fireworks Extravaganza Show, hosted by Brevard College.  Thanks to the community-wide partnership with the Transylvania Tourism Development Authority, Brevard/Transylvania Chamber of Commerce, City of Brevard, Heart of Brevard, Guy Freeman, and other fireworks friends….thousands of people can enjoy the spectacular show lighting our downtown sky.
The Fourth of July Celebration is Americana at its best.  Our community Arts Council welcomes its 39th  annual Fine Arts & Crafts Showcase.  For over 16 years the Transylvania Cruisers Club hosts its major auto show of over 120 pre-1984 classic vehicles.  The Humane Society recognizes the talents of the animal world in their All Star Pet Show.  Sycamore Cycles sponsors the annual Bicycle Parade, in which children decorate their bicycles to compete in the Most Patriotic, Most Creative, and Most Unusual categories.  And where else can you find elected officials reading the “Declaration of Independence” against the back drop of the Charlie Bagwell Memorial Flag Raising?
Music takes place at the Courthouse Gazebo from 11:00am until 5:00pm.  We have performances for all ages, provided by:  Wanda Lu Paxton, Deano and the Dreamers, Lynn Goldsmith & Jeter Mountain, Step Child, Sylvan Square Dancers, Moon Shine Babies.
